Thanet Villa built in 1869 offers an "Old World Charm" accommodation in a veritable oasis of tranquillity, nestles on 2 acres of prime wooded land in the picturesque hill resort of Nainital. Thanet Villa is surrounded by Pine, Oak and Deodhar trees over 200 years old. The famous Gurney House where Col. Jim Corbett stayed is behind our Villa. There have been occasions when leopards have come close to the Villa to sunbathe. The area surrounding the Villa has over 50 varieties of birds, numerous species of butterflies, flying foxes, rabbits, monkeys (langurs) - it is truly a nature lovers paradise. The Villa has cosy rooms with beautiful scenario and greenery in the midst of mother nature. The villa has its own running spring water. Truly a home away from home. During the advent of winters the villa is surrounded by snow. We get a spectacular view of the snow capped mountains and trees which look like a fairy tale picture postcard. One can admire the beauty of snowfall from our villa rooms.
